VibeOffice — Word, Excel and PowerPoint
in your browser
VibeOffice is a browser office suite in the classic Office 2003 style. A word processor, a spreadsheet and a presentation editor that open and save real .docx, .xlsx and .pptx files — with nothing to install, no account, and your files never leaving your computer. VibeOffice runs entirely on your own machine.
VibeOffice opens and saves the formats you actually send
VibeOffice: nothing to install
Open the VibeOffice Start Center, pick a file or a template, and start editing.
Open the Start Center
Go to vibeoffice.work in Chrome, Edge, or any modern browser. No download, no sign-in. Open a file, pick a recent one, or start from a blank page or template.
Edit in the familiar classic UI
Use VibeOffice's menus, toolbars and task panes of the Office 2003 look. Whatever you already know from Word, Excel and PowerPoint still applies.
Save in the same format
Save back to .docx, .xlsx or .pptx and hand the file to someone on Microsoft Office or LibreOffice. Everything you did not touch stays exactly as it was.
Three apps, one suite
VibeOffice bundles a word processor, a spreadsheet and a presentation editor — each opens and saves the real formats.
Quire — word processor
Edit .docx, .docm, .dotx, .dotm, .rtf, .htm, .txt and Markdown (.md, or a .zip with pictures), and export to PDF. Content controls, comments, watermarks and numbering come through in VibeOffice.
Ledger — spreadsheet
Edit .xlsx, .xlsm, .xltx, .xltm, .csv and XML Spreadsheet 2003, and export to PDF. Pivot tables, slicers, timelines and threaded comments survive a round trip in VibeOffice.
Lectern — presentations
Edit .pptx, .pptm, .ppsx, .ppsm, .potx and .potm, and export to PDF, PNG or .htm. Media, sections, custom shows and unused slide layouts are preserved in VibeOffice.
Lossless editing
What it cannot edit yet, it keeps. VBA macros, embedded objects, SmartArt, ink, 3-D models and custom XML are written back byte for byte by VibeOffice.
Private by design
Everything runs on your machine. There is no server behind it, no upload and no sign-in — your documents never leave your computer.
Installable
In Chrome or Edge, install it from the Start Center. It then opens .docx, .xlsx and .pptx files straight from your file manager.
Built to hand files back intact
VibeOffice edits change only what you changed, and nothing is dropped silently.
Keep what it can't edit
VBA macros, embedded objects, SmartArt, video and audio, ink, 3-D models and custom XML are written back byte for byte.
Change only what you changed
Move an object it cannot edit and only its position changes; unsupported attributes stay put.
Stable names and IDs
Edited content keeps its original names and IDs, so links, comments and animations still point where they did.
Nothing lost silently
If a save would drop something you would miss, the Compatibility Checker shows a warning.
Lossless save
The goal: edit a Word, Excel or PowerPoint file in VibeOffice, save it, and have it open cleanly for whoever uses Microsoft Office.

Frequently asked questions
Can't find what you're looking for? Open an issue on GitHub.
Is VibeOffice free?
Yes. It is free and open source under the Apache License 2.0, and there is nothing to install to use it in the browser.
Do my files get uploaded?
No. VibeOffice runs entirely on your machine — there is no server behind it, no upload and no account. Documents are opened, edited and saved on your own computer.
Does it open real Word, Excel and PowerPoint files?
Yes. VibeOffice's Quire opens .docx, Ledger opens .xlsx, and Lectern opens .pptx — along with the related template and macro-enabled formats — and saves them back in the same format.
Will my edits break the file for Microsoft Office?
The goal is a lossless round trip. What VibeOffice cannot edit yet — VBA macros, embedded objects, SmartArt, ink, 3-D models and custom XML — is written back byte for byte, and the Compatibility Checker warns if a save would drop something.
Where do I start?
Go to vibeoffice.work, the Start Center. Open a file, pick a recent one, or create a document, spreadsheet or presentation from a blank page or a template.
Is it affiliated with Microsoft?
No. VibeOffice is an independent project. Microsoft, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Office are trademarks of Microsoft Corporation.
Found a file that misbehaves?
VibeOffice improves from real files that fail to open or save the way they should.
